"It is tournament time and in every game when things start going wrong every coach wants to inspire his team. What help can you give us coaches on our inspirational speech we have to give in that desperate moment?" , An All Star Manager Tell them they are good. Make them laugh. There is nothing you can tell
them that will make them play better than they are. They must believe they can win without extra effort because they are good enough. What kind of message are you sending to your team if you exhort them to superhuman efforts. That their normal game isn't good enough? When ever a player asks me about some stud pitcher, what results do you think I will get if I tell him "he throws 93 with a brutal yacker. Your gonna have to pump it up to compete with this guy"? No, I just tell him, "He sucks! We're gonna knock him out of his cleats". Respect The Game, Work Hard, HAVE FUN! SEE ARCHIVES
